The Contest Brief

Contest Holder Name: bertiesbakery

Company Name: Berties Bakery

Company Slogan:

What We Do: In the process of opening a bakery that does custom cakes and cupcakes along with other catered baked goods.

Industry Type: Food and Beverage

Top Three Things to Communicate Through Our Logo Design:

#1 The name "Berties Bakery"

#2 The Little "Birdie"

#3 A specialty cupcake or cake

Our Target Audience:

Customers of the bakery; people ordering custom, highend, sophisticated baked goods (specialty cakes, cupcakes, etc.)

We like these colors:

Pinks, Teals, purple I've included a handful photos: 1) One is a photo of an African Bee Eater (Bird) - I'd like my logo to have a variant of this playful bird in it with a cherry held in it's beak 2) A logo example that was previously done. I hate how it looks very cliparty - I want it to flow better. I'm not married to this design, it just gives you some thoughts. 3) A handful of logos that I like. I like the Cupcake Tree one and how it incorporates the tree with the logo (note that it may be showing up with a black background instead of the white background.) Also of note that I like/use the Harrington font - but I'm not 100% stuck on that if something similiar/better is proposed. You can see this in more detail on my site: http://www.bertiesbakery.com

Hi everyone,
I really appreciate everyone's work, especially the surge of submissions in the last 24 hours. In order to assist you in really getting at the final logo, I've narrowed down the list considerably. As you can see I'm tending to focus on simple designs that are easy to print and easy to read from a distance, yet still have my bakery name and a baked good prominently displayed. I look forward to seeing more submission tomorrow!
Thanks again and good luck!

I have uploaded some new cupcake specific pictures. I really want the logo to be playful and elegant, and I think having a really clean, 1 or 2 color, and simple cupcake is where the "elegant" is going to be displayed!

Hi,
Thanks for all of your work so far. A few general suggestions and comments.
1. I think the birds have greatly improved!
2. I really like the idea of the logo being "framed" somehow. Whether it be within a circle or a unique box/frame/bracket. This logo will be used on stickers, seals, printed cake boxes, t-shirts, etc. so I like having it contained.
3. I would like to pull back the colors a bit, I love pink, but I don't want the logo overly feminine. I don't want a sister logo to Barbie :)
4. Lastly, I have uploaded some new pictures of logos that are within "frames" that I like.

I also uploaded a few more pictures of some bird ideas. I would like to keep with the African Bee eater colors, but not necessarily the strict anatomy of the Bee eater.

Currently there are two designs that are fairly busy, and two which are fairly straight forward. I would like to be somewhere in between.
I did like the playfulness of the bird dotting the “i” in Bertie’s. I’m not married to this idea, but I appreciated the thought! I am not loving the bird though. I would like a more playful bird, without so much complexity. The bird is really important to me, and I would like it to be simple yet whimsical.

Thanks for your work so far!

Welcome and Thank You for Choosing LogoContest.com!

Here are some helpful hints to make sure you get the most out of our site, and your contest.

1. Please rank your submissions or post general comments a minimum of 1 time per day while your contest is running. This is required should you want to request an extension to your contest and will produce the best results from our designers.

2. Once your contest receives 40 design concepts, your prize amount will become "Guaranteed".

3. Please make the most out of our messaging and comment systems.

a) Place general comments on this main contest page to give all of the designers your preferences and what you would like to see or not see.

b) Clicking on any designers submssion will bring up a page of all submissions by that designer with an option to post private comments pertaining only to his work. (Only the contest Holder and that designer can view and post to this page)

c) Clicking on the designer username under a submission will allow you to send a completely private message to that specific designer.

4. Please "Eliminate" only those logo designs that you feel have no chance of winning your contest. (Be aware that eliminating everything may discourage participation from the designers.)

5. Please rank the designs 1 to 10 and there are also options to rank Elements you like, Colors you like, and Fonts you like. This will help guide the designers toward the design that you are looking for. For the best variety of designs, try not to keep the same design ranked #1 for an extended time as this may result in copying of that design.

6. Once your contest ends and is in judging mode, any revisions to designs that you request from the designers can be emailed to support AT(@) logocontest.com and we will enter them into your contest for you.

Discussion Guidelines:

1. Designers and Contest Holders please always be respectful of each other, we all have the same goal.

2. Please do not criticize any design publicly, these discussions should only be held in private.

3. Designers may not post any external links to any designs.

4. Please do not ask a contest holder to view your designs or discuss any other designs.

5. Designers can not discuss copied designs on the contest pages and may submit a Logo Dispute to the Admin only.

Our team at LogoContest.com as well as our designers will make sure you are 100% satisfied and want you to leave here with a design that you love!

Please recommend us to your friends and business associates for all of their logo design and web page design needs.
